Having a baby, I thought I’d be teaching him. However, he teaches me new things every day. He teaches me to enjoy the simplest of moments, he teaches me patience and he teaches me to enjoy the simple things in life. This came to me today when we shared a rare moment of stillness and he lay in my arms and we looked at each other and played with his dummy. I felt completely happy and I’m sure he did too. These days he only what’s to cuddle if he is tired or hurt. We then danced together, again him in my arms. He laughed, he smiled and we felt close. At the moment we don’t have as much money as we used to which causes daily worries but it’s moments like these that make me realise why, it’s more important to be with my son.
Walking
He’s starting walking, yippee! 11 months. It’s brilliant but also hilarious. He very much toddles and often has his arms out in front of him like a zombie. The smile on his face also shows how pleased he is with himself. His walking is often greeted with a whoop or a cheer. Sometimes he laps this up like a true performer, other times it stops him in his tracks. Another phase but definitely a great one to be a part of.
